The shift from design standards to operational standards - from design to operational performance - is disrupting the building industry. Real-time building performance data brings a pulse to buildings, changing the business models of consultants, the relationship of building owners to tenants and of companies to employees. Past business models are giving way to new opportunities, and nowhere is this greater than in the field of healthy buildings.

At the intersection of sensor networks and cloud technology, building occupants can visualize, analyze and understand how their built surroundings perform and, more importantly, how they personal health, well-being and productivity. RESET Certification was developed in 2013 in China to celebrate projects with measurably healthy air quality.

RESET rethinks project certification from the inside out - making it simpler, more intuitive and cost effective - one measurable step at a time. RESET Certification is awarded to projects with real time air quality data that meets or exceeds international standards across five parameters: particulate matter, carbon dioxide, TVOCs, temperature and relative humidity.

RESET prioritizes results. There are no checklists or prescribed paths. Design can follow any path as long as it leads to healthy results. There are also no registration fees. The Standard is publicly available although is best implemented by a growing network of RESET ASPs. This approach maximizes innovation and adaptation to place while reducing overall project costs.

As an extension of the ILFI Unconference Panel discussion, Experts in Indoor Air Quality: Addressing IAQ Impacts to Improve Human Health, DLR Group’s Seattle office will host a free RESET ASP training for professionals who are keen to learn more about cutting edge IAQ research and practical and impactful design strategies to deliver healthy built results.

The all-day training will be held on Saturday May 20th at the DLR Group Seattle office, starting at 10am. The training is free but registration is required. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register here.

When: Saturday May 20th, 10am-5pm PST.

Where: DLR Group Seattle, 51 University St., Suite 600, Seattle, WA 98101

About RESET

RESET helps building owners and tenants measure, understand air quality and communicate how it impacts occupant well-being. RESET prioritizes on-going building performance and long-term occupant health and is applicable for Core & Shell and Commercial Interiors projects. RESET requires that continuous, live building performance data be reported to the cloud using multi-parameter monitors.

Building owners and tenants use RESET to tune HVAC system operation to optimize both energy efficiency and occupant well-being. RESET is the world’s first building standard to assess the health performance of indoor spaces in real-time. For more information, please visit: www.reset.build

Who Should Attend the RESET ASP Training?

Building Owners and Managers: RESET’s modular approach enables building owners and managers to integrate health and wellbeing in an affordable and scalable basis. RESET is the foundation stone for other building standards.

Equipment Solution Providers: RESET is a technology-based building standard focused on operational results. Learn how your equipment and services can contribute to the RESET Standard.

Consultants: RESET’s modular, scalable and affordable approach enables consultants to engage with and retain more clients and projects, as well as creating new service models.

Learning Objectives:

RESET principles and history.

Understanding the shift from “green” to “healthy” buildings.

Understanding the embodied health impacts of Materials: chemicals of concern to VOCs.

Building Lungs: understanding mechanical and biological filtration of air.

Operational Impact: understanding the variables of IAQ.

Understanding how to analyze IAQ monitoring results.
