Congratulations! RESET® Air Certification for NRDC’s Beijing Office

RESET is proud to announce the achievement of RESET Air Certification for Commercial Interiors (v2.0) for Natural Resources Defense Council’s Beijing Office.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is an international nonprofit environmental organization founded in 1970. For two decades, NRDC has been a thought leader and trusted adviser to their partners in China. NRDC China Program have worked hard at both the national and local levels to recommend, develop, and help implement innovative laws, policies, technologies, and market tools that conserve natural resources, curb pollution and accelerate China's transition to a clean, low-carbon economy.

Like NRDC, RESET is committed to promote green and sustainable development just like. RESET leverages technology and data to create healthy and sustainably built environments.

In order to offer a healthy and sustainable working environment for their employee, NRDC’s Beijing Office began planning for RESET Air Certification in 2019. The office has deployed RESET accredited indoor air quality monitors according to the RESET Air Standard requirements.

Throughout the required three-month data audit phase, the project demonstrated the ability to maintain IAQ within the thresholds required by the RESET Air Standard. NRDC’s Beijing Office was awarded with RESET Air Certification for Commercial Interior (v2.0) in December 2020.

Air quality indicators and thresholds for RESET Air Commercial Interior (v2.0) include:

The above air quality indicators and thresholds are based on industry best-practices and international standards. Targets are requisite for the projects pursuing RESET Air Certification. Additionally, temperature and relative humidity are continuously monitored, although no specific thresholds are prescribed.

After obtaining RESET Air certification, the project site must maintain these thresholds in order to keep its certification. Air quality data is collected via air quality monitors and evaluated daily by the RESET Assessment Cloud. Additionally, air data must be shared with project occupants to foster education and promote social equity.

It is worth mentioning that NRDC’s Beijing Office is also piloting the RESET Material v2.0 certification, the goal of which is to measure and track chemical emission and chemical ingredients disclosure for building materials used for the fit-out of the space. Choosing the right decorative materials and furniture is extremely important to achieving healthy indoor air quality.
