Orange Connex Industrial Park is the first logistics center in the world to become RESET Energy Accredited. Located in the Jimei District of Xiamen, the developer of the site and one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, focused on real estate, infrastructure, renewable power, and private equity, Brookfield Group, commissioned WSP, a leading global professional engineering consulting firm, to be in-charge of the RESET audit.
To achieve RESET Energy Accreditation, WSP set up 63 energy meters to capture and measure total energy consumption in real-time across the entirety of the campus—comprising five warehouses and one six-story building. The data is consolidated and submitted to the RESET Cloud for a continuous data audit every 30 minutes.
Logistics centers are prime candidates for becoming net-zero energy because less energy is used and there is rooftop space to install solar panels to lessen Scope 2 emissions. The next step for Orange Connex Industrial Park is the installation of solar panels, targeting operational net-zero energy.
WSP also built a software dashboard providing easy access and visibility over the energy data of the logistics center. In addition to establishing monitoring, WSP also helped Orange Connex Industrial Park achieve LEED O+M Gold Certification.

The RESET Energy Standard is a performance standard for continuous energy monitoring, designed to prioritize ongoing results with a focus on the operational phase of a built environment. RESET Energy requires energy consumption data to be continuously gathered through energy meters. Results are required to be pushed to the cloud and accessible in real-time, providing access to better understand how a building performs over time.
